Se invita a las personas interesadas a postular al llamado ANID de postdoctorado Fondecyt 2024, a considerar integrarse al Núcleo Milenio de Ecología y Conservación de los Ecosistemas de Arrecifes Mesofóticos Templados (NUTME).

 

El NUTME se centra en uno de los ecosistemas menos estudiados del Chile y el mundo: los arrecifes mesofóticos templados. El equipo de científicos del NUTME estudia la estructura y dinámica de estos ecosistemas, su conectividad con ecosistemas más someros, la adaptación de los organismos a ambientes persistentemente hipóxicos, su vulnerabilidad a impacto humano, y los desafíos de conservación. Para esto integra diferentes metodologías, desde buceo, contando con un equipo altamente capacitado para buceo profundo, videos, conocimiento de los pescadores, hasta métodos moleculares, radioisotopos y acústicos. Se ofrece integrarse a un equipo de científicos que colaboran desde sus diferentes expertises, quienes pueden actuar de guías en la postulación y patrocinarla. El NUTME cuenta además con redes de colaboración internacional.

 

Las becas de investigación posdoctoral Fondeyct de ANID tienen como objetivo estimular la productividad y el futuro liderazgo científico de aquellos que recién comienzan una investigación independiente y que tienen un doctorado, brindando oportunidades para que los científicos en sus primeras carreras lideren proyectos de investigación en afiliación con una organización de investigación anfitriona que ofrece mentoría y facilita la interacción y colaboración con grupos de investigación consolidados. Estas becas financian iniciativas de investigación científica o tecnológica que den lugar a nuevos conocimientos previstos a través de hipótesis de trabajo explicitadas en la propia propuesta. Los investigadores no necesitan ser ciudadanos/nacionales chilenos, pero deben ser residentes chilenos acreditados al inicio (y durante) la ejecución del proyecto adjudicado. https://www.anid.cl/

Call of Support for Postdoctoral Research Grant Application

 

 

Those interested in broadening their research by joining the Millennium Nucleus of Ecology and Conservation of Temperate Mesophotic Reef Ecosystems (NUTME) are invited to apply for the 2024 ANID Fondecyt Postdoctoral researcher award with the strengthening sponsorship of NUTME scientists.

 

 

NUTME focuses on one of the least studied ecosystems in Chile and the world: temperate mesophotic reefs. The NUTME team of scientists studies the structure and dynamics of these ecosystems, their connectivity with shallower coastal ecosystems, the adaptation of organisms to persistently hypoxic environments, their vulnerability to human impact, and conservation challenges. For this, NUTME integrates different methodologies, from technical diving, remotely acquired video imagery and fisher’s knowledge, to molecular, radioisotope and acoustic methods.  Thus, we offer the collaboration of an interdisciplinary team of leading scientists with diverse specializations who can act as guides and sponsors in the application process. Further, applicants can benefit from NUTME’s international collaboration networks.

 

 

The ANID Fondeyct Postdoctoral research fellowships aim to stimulate the productivity and future scientific leadership of those just starting independent research, and who have a PhD degree, by providing opportunities for scientists early in their careers to lead research projects in affiliation with a host research organization that offers mentoring and facilitates interaction and collaboration with consolidated research groups.  These fellowships finance scientific or technological research initiatives that lead to new knowledge as foreseen through working hypotheses made explicit in the proposal itself. Investigators need not be Chilean citizens/nationals, but must be an acredited Chilean resident by the beginning of (and during) the execution of the awarded project.
